How Do You Know If Your Jade Roller is Real?

How Do You Know If Your Jade Roller is Real?

One of the latest trending skincare tools on the market is jade rollers.  Go figure, not all of them are crafted with real jade or premium metals. For maximum skin benefits as well as holistic healing, you need to ensure the roller you are using is made of premium ingredients.  Read on for our tips for why you need a jade roller, and how to tell the one you select is authentic.

What Do Jade Rollers Do?

Jade rollers have been used in beauty routines for centuries. Historically, Asian women believed that jade was the fountain of youth, and they weren’t all that far off from the truth.

Using a roller on your skin promotes lymphatic drainage, increases blood circulation, and reduces the appearance of puffiness and inflammation. When used in conjunction with a face mask or serum, a roller will also help your skin absorb the product for a deeper and more meaningful effect.

Jade has long been seen as a symbol of prosperity and luck and credited with helping people manifest their heart’s desires. Using a jade roller also balances the Third Eye Chakra and helps enhance your intuition.

Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Use a Fake Roller

There are many reasons why you should avoid using a fake roller, including:

  • Unethical Sourcing – Many cheap or fake facial rollers are not made from ethically sourced materials, which can cause serious harm to the environment.
  • Skin Irritation – Fake rollers are generally made from dyed glass or marble. The chemicals used to make the dye and the fake stones can harm your skin and cause irritation.
  • Poor Quality – Real jade rollers are high quality and built to last, but fake rollers crack, rust, squeak, or generally fall apart after a short period of use. Many are not fully polished and have holes in their surfaces. These holes collect dirt and bacteria that you do not want to roll onto your face.
  • No Energy Benefits – As noted above, real jade carries positive energy. Fake stones do not. Rest assured that all of Knesko’s rollers are made of ethically sourced, genuine green gemstone and positively charged with Reiki Energy to rebalance your chi in your Third Eye Chakra.

How to Spot a Fake

There are several ways to spot a fake jade roller:

You can tell your jade roller is real by its color, temperature, jade type, price point, and fragility.  Here are some key points to look out for:

  • Color – Real jade is a naturally dark green or light green stone with natural pattern varieties like white swirls and black dots. If a roller doesn’t have the color or imperfections, it’s a fake.
  • Fragility – Jade is easily broken if dropped, while fake marble is not.
  • Temperature – Fake rollers are not cool to the touch and do not cool down quickly after use.
  • Jade Type – There are only two types of real jade: nephrite and jadeite. If the label says any other name, it’s not real.
  • Cost – If a roller is priced under $20, it is most likely fake.
